The month of November ‘When We Remember’ can, for some, be a challenging time of the year. The evening’s close in early and the weather can be cold and wet. While nature falls asleep with the abundance of colour as the leaves fall off the trees, we can still live this time in faith, hope and charity.
On Friday 13th November at 7pm, (broadcast on website/Parish radio & Facebook Live), we will remember all our loved ones who have died over the last year and we also remember children who have died at any stage in life. If you would like a child’s name to be displayed on the Remembrance Tree for the month of November, please email the Parish Office at office@shannonparish.ie
In both our Churches, we have displayed names and photos of all those parishioners and loved ones who have died over the last year. Please visit the Church in your own time and reflect and pray, light a candle for those who have departed – maybe a loved one, a friend, a neighbour, someone special! The words of the prayer come to mind: ‘As we have loved them in life how could we forget them in death’. God bless you!
God will wipe away every tear from their eyes,
and death shall be no more,
neither shall there be mourning, nor crying,
nor pain anymore,
for the former things have passed away. – Revelation 21:4
