Ash Wednesday & Lent 2021

Published on February 16, 2021

Parish Masses for Ash Wednesday are: 10am & 7pm (online). For the Season of Lent there are a vast array of resources available for our families and schools on the Trocaire website www.trocaire.org – It’s a lovely opportunity to enter into the season of prayer fasting and almsgiving in preparation for the Easter. We also have a great tradition of supporting the Trocaire Lenten campaign where a limited number of Trocaire boxes will be left at the porch of the Church. On Wednesday February 17th we begin the Season of Lent with Ash Wednesday. Due to the current safety protocols there will be NO ASHES AVAILABLE. We offer you 12 challenges for Lent:
1. Pray or reflect a little more.
2. Read or watch something positive.
3. Do a random act of kindness.
4. Donate to Trocaire or another cause.
5. Check in on a neighbour on their own.
6. Get healthy.
7. Visit your Church for a quiet moment.
8. Give up a bit of comfort.
9. Go addiction free from cigarettes etc.
10. Give up gossip or downgrading.
11. Try a bit of fasting each day.
12. Stick with the Phase 5 protocols.
God Bless you and your family this Season of Lent!
