Bishop Fintan Monahan began our celebration of Christmas in Shannon when he celebrated Mass for children and young people in Mary Immaculate Church. This celebration was exactly 50 years to the day when when Shannon parishioners first gathered in Mary Immaculate Church for the first time as an Independent Parish. Shannon Gospel Choir provided the music and Maria and Orlaith from our Youth ministry co-ordinated the Liturgy.

Great crowds attended the Christmas Eve Masses in both Mary Immaculate and SS John & Paul Church at 10pm where the singing was superb. On Christmas morning our children’s Mass was celebrated in SS John & Paul Church and large numbers gathered for the other Masses in the parish. Our thanks to Joe Buckley for photos.
